For generations, it was a winter playground for Greeks and tourists alike, its slopes blanketed with snow that lasted well into spring. However, those days are rapidly disappearing.

Researchers from the University of Cambridge's Scott Polar Research Institute have found that Greece has lost over half of its snow cover since the mid 1980s.
